The house is modern; the enclosing garden walls are nineteenth century and full of character.

The garden itself was just rough grass with a few good birch trees when surveyed prior to undertaking the design work

Afterwards, the grass has gone, replaced by more practical paving. The small patio has been extended to provide an outside dining space and now encloses the garden room. The small size blocks in the lower garden provide a change of scale and interest at ground level. The whole structure is set off by the planting.
